If you've ever visited or lived in New York City, I think you can agree with the statement that New York is one of the few places in the world where everyone has the opportunity and freedom to be their authentic self, without judgement or reprecautions. A place where gender, sexuality, feminism, diversity, beliefs, love, and art, are all well respected forms of expressions. A place where is okay to be different.

Moving to New York, from the Dominican Republic, as a young teen really boosted the chances I so desperately wanted to be myself. I always had a basic yet clear understanding of my sexuality, but when I arrived and emerged myself into the New York culture I gave myself permission to be bold! Always remembering to be respectful to other people's boldness and raise my voice/power to demand respect for mine when necessary. Never being afraid.

That sense of being fearless gave me the perfect wings to fly and present myself to the world in my very own creative aspect.
