Miami & Key West | Short Vlog

Miami & Key West are two of the many sandy destinations I visited last year. After putting together a little video and finding a few photos on my old phone I decided to share my summer experience with you all. It was my very first time in both cities and they definitely provoke me completely different feelings. Miami was great! We did everything from the most popular museums to the only legal nude beach in Florida. The architecture, the colorful restaurants, and the endless amount of palm trees really captivated my attention.

We went to the famous Calle 8 to sip on some Café Cubano and ended most of our nights at the corner cafetería for a Sandwich Cubano. I think overall Miami Beach was a very inspiring place.
After exploring all the hot spots in Miami Beach we decided to do something a little more tranquil; we took a 4 hour road trip to Key West. It was my first time visiting the Island, and from all the great things I’ve heard, I set up my expectation a little bit too high. Although Key West feels very cozy and local, it wasn’t quite what I was looking forward to.
I was hoping to find amazing crystal clear waters, white sand, and the ultimate tropical vibes – considering its only 90 miles from Cuba. From my perspective, I encountered an over crowed little town, extremely commercialized, and not even similar to any island of the Caribbean. Being from the Dominican Republic I do know of specific qualities a place has to have in order to be considered “Exotic” – for a lack of a better word. Key west didn’t meet any of those qualities.
Okay… Enough with the negatives. Key West is definitely one of the best places, if not the only, where you can enjoy the perfect Key Lime while at a clothing optional bar 🙂 – It cant get better than that!
